Welcome to AgePulse ("we," "our," or "us"). AgePulse is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application operates, what information is processed, and how your data is handled when you use the AgePulse mobile application (the "App").

By installing and using AgePulse, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Core Privacy Principle: Local-First Architecture

AgePulse operates on a strict Local-First Architecture:

  • Zero Cloud Transmission: All personal information (such as names, birth dates, calculation histories, and biological age survey answers) is stored and processed exclusively on your local device.
  • No User Accounts Required: You are not required to register an account, log in, or provide any personally identifiable contact information to access the App.
  • No Remote Servers: We do not own or maintain cloud database servers to store or track your personal entries.

2. Information Handled by the Application

All data you enter into AgePulse is stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences and local widget storage preference files:

  1. Profiles & People Hub Data: Names, birth dates, and relationship tags entered for yourself, family members, or friends.
  2. Biological Age Survey Data: Answers provided during lifestyle assessments (sleep, physical activity, stress, nutrition, hydration, habits) and date-stamped score history.
  3. Saved Calculations & Forecasts: Calculation history, date arithmetic results, and milestone predictions saved within the App ("Time Vault").
  4. Home Screen Widgets Data: Synchronization of live days alive and nearest upcoming family birthdays to native Android Home Screen AppWidgets.
  5. App Settings: User preferences such as Dark Mode toggles and notification preferences.

None of the data listed above is transmitted off your device or accessible by the developers of AgePulse.

3. Third-Party Advertising Services (Google AdMob)

To keep AgePulse 100% free for all users, the App integrates Google AdMob to serve non-intrusive advertisements.

Google AdMob may collect and process certain device-level technical identifiers, including:

  • Device Identifiers: Android Advertising ID (AAID).
  • Network & Diagnostics: Coarse IP-based location, device model, operating system version, and ad performance diagnostics.

Google AdMob uses this information in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Note: The AgePulse application source code does not share any of your internal profiles, names, birth dates, or biological age results with Google AdMob or any third-party ad network.

4. System Permissions Required

AgePulse requests only the minimal system permissions necessary to deliver local app features:

  • android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to display locally-scheduled birthday reminders and milestone alerts on Android 13+. No internet connection is used for notifications.
  • android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Required to automatically re-register your locally-scheduled birthday reminders after your mobile device restarts.
  • android.permission.VIBRATE: Used for tactile touch feedback on interactive buttons and controls.

5. Data Control, Retention, & Deletion

Because all personal data is stored locally on your device, you have complete ownership and control over your information:

  1. In-App Deletion: You can delete individual profiles, saved calculation records, or biological age history directly within the App.
  2. Clear App Storage: You can instantly erase all stored data by going to your mobile device's settings: Settings > Apps > AgePulse > Storage > Clear Data.
  3. Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling AgePulse permanently deletes all local application files, stored profiles, and widget preferences from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

The "Baby Age" feature is designed for parents to track infant growth milestones. AgePulse does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. All infant birth dates and milestone logs are stored strictly on the parent's local device.

7. Android 16 & Google Play Policy Compliance

AgePulse is fully updated to target Android 16 (API Level 36) or higher and complies with all Google Play Developer Program Policies regarding user data, target API level requirements, and system edge-to-edge display standards.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
